"Precious Zoe wasn't sure she'd have a shot at the good life. Surrendered to the shelter with four other Chihuahuas in a tall, narrow, cardboard box, Zoe was no longer wanted. Her four friends made it up for adoptions at the shelter, but Zoe, the eldest of the bunch, found herself on the euthanasia list due to nothing other than fearfulness. We couldn't stand by and watch her life end.
Fortunately, Zoe's foster parents fell in love with her pathetic shelter photo and volunteered to take her in. She's doing fabulously in foster care! Zoe loves going for walks, listening to the birds chirp in the backyard, playing with her canine foster siblings, snuggling up in her cushy dog bed, and of course getting cozy on the couch with her foster parents. She may be 8 years old and only 6 pounds, but this little gal has BIG personality! She loves a good roll session on the rug and enjoys playfully chasing people feet. Zoe is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and very food motivated. She learns new things quickly and loves to explore. She lives with a 1 year old and a 13 year old and does very well with them. She'd likely be just fine with cats, as well. There's really no one she doesn't get along with! Now that she's out of the shelter, Zoe is learning to feel safe and understand what trust is all about. Nothing can hold her back - she's ready for her furever! If you're in the San Jose, CA area and would like to meet Zoe, please fill out our adoption application or email info@stfrancisanimal.org for more information. Don't miss the chance to add this adorable girl to your family!" $200 tax-deductible adoption fee to the St. Francis Animal Protection Society.
